Comments and formatting

By default, users can comment on Gallery posts. Gallery owners can control who is allowed to comment on their posts.

Your comment policy

In your gallery settings, under who else can comment on your posts:

  • Anyone, meaning any signed-in account.
  • People who follow you.
  • Accounts older than 2 weeks, 3 months or 1 year, which keeps new and throwaway accounts out.
  • No one, which closes your posts to everyone but you.

Whichever you pick, it applies to every post you have made and every post you make later.

Moderating your posts

You can delete any comment on your own posts.

Comments carry a report button for anything that needs staff attention rather than deletion. See Blocking and reporting.

Formatting

Comments and descriptions offer the same set of Markdown, minus images for comments.

Emoji shortcodes like  and custom emote names work in descriptions and comments, just like in the chat. See Emotes.

Upload images through the description editor via a drag and drop or the button.

Links to other sites go through the leaving warning when someone clicks them - in chat too, where bare URLs are linked automatically. See Viewing preferences.
